- Quantity: 1 kg of packaged dried fish (approximately 5–6 pieces, depending on size)
Storage Information
Store in a cool, dry place. When stored correctly, the fish stays fresh for at least 6 months at room temperature.
Cooking & Usage
To prepare, place the fish in a bowl and pour hot water over it. Allow it to soak for 20-30 minutes, then rinse and debone before use.
Alternatively, the fish can be consumed directly as a snack without rinsing, thanks to its hygienic processing.
For richer flavour, use the fish broth during cooking.
This African smoked dried catfish is ideal for traditional dishes such as egusi soup, ogbono soup, bitter leaf soup, okra soup, oha soup, and vegetable soup.
